Hare and Sun - Joseph Beuys
Magazine Story
During documenta 7, Kassel 1982, Joseph Beuys had remelted a golden copy of the Tsar Ivan the Terrible's crown into a "Peace Rabbit" with the sun. Gold and sun embody "a central organ for the harmonization of human relations, but also the democratization of an old symbol of power into a very popular sign of peace that every child and every person knows, especially in Central Europe." (J. Beuys)
